1. In the city, it’s easy to travel because
- Many forms of transport such as buses, taxis, cyclos… are available to the public.
- The road system is in good condition.
- We have a lot of good and well-lighted roads.
- We enjoy cheap public conveyances such as subway and buses.

2. The city-dweller enjoys a lot of conveniences and comforts for
- accommodation is good with houses with modern conveniences such as water laid on and electric light.
- In the city, there is always a steady supply of water and power.
- Many famous and fine shops are always close at hand to supply customers with all necessities (things needed for living) and luxuries.
- The customers can have easy access to a wide and excellent network of well-equipped hospitals, good schools, churches and pagodas.

3. The city-dweller can have, at small expense, all kinds of social entertainments, such as theaters, cinemas, concerts and clubs.
- Life is very funny, exciting and interesting because in the city you don’t need to go far to have a good time. You can have a wide circle of friends and acquaintances thanks to the rich and active social life.



4. The city-dweller can have the best education at first-rate schools, colleges and universities.
- The city is a big educational and cultural center where someone can get the best teachers, lecturers as well as excellent educational facilities and learning conditions.
- Besides, The city-dweller have a good chance of feeding and stimulating his mind thanks to a wide network of libraries, museums, art galleries, cultural palaces and public lectures.
- The competitive life in the city also keeps someone always mentally alert and active.

5. City life also offers people many important moral benefits. Living in a large community, we tend to become liberal and open-minded.
- The city is a crossroads of many different cultures in the world and it is also a place where we can get up-to-date knowledge and information about nearly all areas of life.
- City-dwellers are more receptive to changes and innovations and more easily adapt themselves to new ideas or wa6ys of thinking.

* Against (Dislike)

1. The city-dweller live under the constant threat of pollution. The exhaust (fumes, gases, steam, ect. expelled from an engine or a machine) from all kinds of vehicles, smoke from factory chimneys, industrial waste and all the smells, dirts and noise seriously spoil the environment.

2. In many developing countries, townspeople drop litter indiscriminately and leave waste materials in the wrong places.
- Rivers and lakes are heavily polluted by the irresponsible discharge of poisonous waste, chemicals, toxic substances, and dumping of oil and garbage.
- The foul and smoky atmosphere in the city affects the health and shortens people’s lives.
3. In many cities, the sanitary system does not work very well.
- The streets and roads are often flooded whenever it rains heavily.
- In many places, garbage dumps and blocked sewers create pockets of disease and contamination.

4. Town life is more artificial and the city-dweller loses his touch with nature.
- The fast pace of life, tough competition and the pleasure-seeking way of life tires people fast and makes them age quickly.

5. In some of parts of the city, it is not safe to go out for a walk at night for you may run the risk of being mugged.
- Robbers, petty thieves, burglars cause a constant worry for the townsfolk.
- Young people in the city fight a constant battle against many forms of temptation to vice and crime such as gambling, drug-trafficking, pornography and prostitution.

As a result, juvenile delinquency and juvenile delinquents are increasing more and more.

6. Heavy work load, unemployment, the race for power and money, position and influence cause all the stresses and strains of modern city life.
